Whatever you thought of the overall episode, the “Glee” tribute to Cory Monteith — “The Quarterback” — featured some amazing music. Watch videos of Lea Michele, Amber Riley, Naya Rivera and the rest singing their goodbyes to Finn Hudson.
First up is Rachel (Michele) singing a beautiful and tearful rendition of “Make You Feel My Love.”
Mercedes (Riley) also gave a notable performance. In this case, the singer did her own version of a song sung by Finn back in Season 1, “I’ll Stand by You.”
One of the most emotional performances in “The Quarterback” came from a surprising source, Santana (Rivera). She sang an a cappella version of The Band Perry‘s “If I Die Young.”
The whole episode opened with much of the cast singing “Seasons of Love” from the musical, “Rent.” This choice is especially appropriate because of that play’s history — the writer of the show, Jonathan Larson, died suddenly and tragically just before its opening back in 1996.
Puck (Mark Salling) got a solo number that seemed to honor his guy-style friendship with Finn, “No Surrender.”
Finally, Sam (Chord Overstreet) and Artie (Kevin McHale) took the lead on James Taylor‘s “Fire and Rain.”
What was your favorite song from “The Quarterback”?
