LeAnn Rimes is continuing her media/confessional tour in support of her new album, opening up once again about the upheavals in her personal life in the past few years.
Rimes, who said recently she “thought I was pathetic” at times, also owns up to causing others pain in her relationship with actor Eddie Cibrian. The two began affair while filming a TV movie in 2008 that ended each of their first marriages. (Cibrian and Rimes have been married for two years.)
“I made some really bad choices,” Rimes tells People. “I caused hurt.”
That sort of heart-on-the-sleeve talk is all over Rimes’ new album, “Spitfire,” which hits stores next week. The song “What Have I Done” is basically an apology to her ex, Dean Sheremet, and other tunes reference her personal life too — although she says she’s in a better place now.
“I’ve grown up a lot these last five years,” she tells the magazine. “I thought my life was falling apart, but now everything is good.”
