Lily Collins is joining many others with her affection for Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence. The daughter of Phil Collins may know a bit more about Lawrence than most, though. It seems the two are buddies.
In an interview with Glamour, Lily gushes about Jennifer, “She’s a friend; she’s awesome.” But why is she awesome? Collins has an answer for that, too. “The choices Jennifer has made have been really interesting.” Well, that’s definitely true. After starring in a string of well-received indie movies, she’s now at the center of two gigantic franchises, “X-Men” and “The Hunger Games.”
Still, even as the biggest thing in movies these days, she chooses her projects carefully. Lawrence recently rejoined David O. Russell, after winning an Oscar for “Silver Linings Playbook,” for “American Hustle, which will be out in December.
Lily was even a fan of Lawrence’s Academy Awards spill, saying, “I loved how she carried herself after her trip at the Oscars. I was like, ‘You go, girl!'”
For her part, Lily has a franchise of her own beginning. She’s the star up the upcoming “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones,” based on the first book of a six-part young adult series. If it hits like “The Hunger Games” did, she’s going to be busy for quite a while.
