Just hours after being charged with a misdemeanor theft and given a 120-day jail sentence, Lindsay Lohan posted her $75,000 bail and was released from custody at 9:21 p.m. PT, according to the Los Angeles County sheriff department’s website.
It was the fourth time in a year Lohan had appeared before a judge. This particular time, Judge Stephanie Sautner decided Lohan intentionally stole the $2500 necklace from a Venice, CA store and should have tried to return it once police became involved. Sautner did, however, reduce Lohan’s charge from felony grand theft to misdemeanor theft.
Sautner said she wanted to give Lohan some perspective by sentencing her to almost 500 hours of community service, including working at the county morgue and a local women’s shelter. We suppose that probably will feel like punishment enough to Lohan, but it’s still a bit ridiculous that she’s on her fourth jail sentence and the worst that has happened to her is spending 14 daygs in jail last summer.
