Lindsey Vonn was in for an unexpected treat when she arrived at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards. Testers from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency escorted the Olympic skier to the restroom during the awards show in order to obtain a urine sample.
This is the type of random test that all Olympic athletes sign up to be subjected to, and the fact that she was targeted doesn’t mean that Vonn is on drugs. Both her spokesman and the one for the USADA confirmed the test took place. The results have not been released.
“She understands it is part of the job,” Vonn’s spokesperson tells the Associated Press. A rep for the USADA adds, “We appreciate her professionalism and for accommodating this process, which at times can be inconvenient.”
In addition to her gold medal win at the Vancouver Olympics in 2010, Vonn’s claim to fame is the fact she is currently dating Tiger Woods. She is expected to compete in the 2014 Olympic Games in Russia.
