Lynda Carter has no problem passing the “Wonder Woman” torch on to a new actress. Gal Gadot will play the character in the upcoming “Batman vs. Superman” movie, and Carter is looking forward to seeing a new take on the role.
“I always thought of her as a figure who stands for what’s right. We all know what’s wrong with the world today, so maybe we need her right now,” she tells Metro. “It was [strange to see someone else as Wonder Woman] a long time ago. I care more about the character continuing than holding on to my piece of it. I hope she has fun with it.”
When asked about Wonder Woman being a character in the film where the focus is on Batman and Superman, Carter admits that might be for the best.
“Maybe that’s better. She won’t have to carry the whole film. It takes the pressure off,” Carter says. “I wish her well. I’m just glad she’s going to be out there again. Maybe she’ll get her own show again.”
“Batman vs. Superman” is slated to premiere on July 17, 2015.
