“The Magic School Bus” is getting a tuneup and coming back to your television screen, thanks to Netflix.
The streaming service and Scholastic Media are teaming up for a new version of the beloved ’90s kids’ show called “The Magic School Bus 360°.” The CG-animated series will debut in 2016.
“‘The Magic School Bus’ revolutionized kids’ television through a unique and powerful blend of entertainment and science information. We’re proud that it’s become an evergreen show that children and parents continue to watch together,” Scholastic Media president Deborah Forte says. “Our new rendition ‘The Magic School Bus 360°’ is a similarly compelling addition to the current landscape of children’s programming and on Netflix is bound to reach more families around the world than ever before.”
The show will feature a “modernized” Ms. Frizzle and her students exploring the world and the universe in a high-tech, ever-changing school bus. It will also incorporate some of the technological and scientific advancements that have been made since the first show was produced in the mid-1990s.
