This is a big change for Maks and Kirstie, who seemed to enjoy each other immensely during their dance partnership during “DWTS” Season 12. “Until recently … she stopped getting along with me,” Chmerkovskiy says after being asked about whether the two still talk. “I think the world of her.”
The professional dancer was quick to say that it is not, from his point of view, a matter of religion between himself and Alley, a Scientologist. “I’m not judging people buy their religion,” Maks says. “I’m Jewish. I don’t really believe in science fiction, whatever.”
When host Andy Cohen pressed Chmerkovskiy on the issue, it definitely sounds like the fall-out is one-sided. “We had a great relationship. I thought we had a great relationship,” he explains. “Now that I’m associating with other people that she can’t be associated with, I am no longer to be spoken with.”
Although Cohen hinted that the “people” meant might be Leah Remini (a recent “DWTS” contestant herself) and Remini’s good friend and Chmerkovskiy’s rumored girlfriend Jennifer Lopez, Maks refused to comment directly on that.
Whatever the case, it looks like Kirstie and Maks are over as friends.
