Mariah Carey and Randy Jackson are going to be limiting their professional relationship strictly to “American Idol” from here on out. Jackson had previously been acting as Carey’s co-manager, but it seems those days have come to an end.
The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Jackson and Irving Azoff will no longer be representing Carey going forward. She signed with them in 2011, but has now reportedly moved on to Bruce Flohr at Red Light Management.
“Randy was more of an in-between guy,” a source says. “She was looking for new management and he was like a temporary fix.”
It is reported that Carey and Jackson remain friends, despite the fact the singer has new management. The duo has known one another since the 1990s, and has often collaborated together. It will be interesting to see if this change plays into their dynamic in future “Idol” episodes.
