“‘MasterChef Junior’ is one of the few shows on television that the entire family can truly enjoy together, and I can’t wait to see what Gordon, Joe, Graham and the next round of rambunctious, ridiculously talented junior chefs cook up in Season 2,” said FOX chairman of Entertainment Kevin Reilly.
Hosting and judged by celebrity chefs Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich and Graham Elliot, “MasterChef Junior” features cooks between the ages of 8 and 13. The first season saw 13-year-old Alexander Weiss beat out 12-year-old Dara Wu for the top title, and all of the kids managed to cook things that most adults wouldn’t tackle.
With an average of 5.1 million viewers, “MasterChef Junior” won its timeslot in most key demos and also had the highest percentage gains in DVR viewership for any unscripted network series.
Auditions for Season 2 of the show will take place throughout January in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles and Dallas. “MasterChef Junior” will return with new episodes at some point in 2014.
