It’s almost time for that show about the awesome commercials with occasional breaks for football! This year, the anticipation for Super Bowl — a Giants vs. Patriots rematch — is high — and advertisers are doing their best to keep us excited about the advertisements, too. They’re going so far as to run advertisements for advertisements.
We’ll allow it just this once, but only because Matthew Broderick reprising his breakout role as Ferris Bueller is worth all the hype it can possibly get. We’re not quite sure what the advertisement is for, which might be sort of counterproductive, but seeing Broderick don a robe and open his curtains all Bueller-like gave us a nostalgic thrill.
“We hate to be such a tease, but on a day like today, we just
have to,” says the caption on the video. “Stick it out until the Super Bowl, or
take a ‘day off’ on Monday and catch the big reveal.”
Other commercials that got an early release include a “Vampire Diaries” inspired Audi commercial, and a Coca-Cola ad that has been made in two versions, with the winner of the football game to determine which version is aired.
