Look out Nadya Suleman, because Karla Vanessa Perez is about to one-up you in the multiple births department. The 32-year-old Mexican is expecting 9 babies in May thanks to fertility treatments. Which, following convention, would make Perez a “Nonomom” (mother of 9) to Suleman’s “Octomom” moniker.
And like Suleman, Perez already has children at home — four of them.
“Doctors tell me there are six girls and three boys,” the 32-year-old Perez tells Mexican news station Televisa. “It’s miraculous.”
Not quite. The news station confirmed that Perez did undergo fertility treatments before her high-risk pregnancy. She’s scheduled to be induced in late May, but she says the next challenge will be figuring out how to support and care for nine newborns.
“My husband doesn’t make so much money as a tire fitter so I think we’re going to need extra help with hospital costs and everything,” she says.
Maybe she should talk to Suleman, who says she “uses” the media to help pay her bills, for tips on keeping 10+ kids in diapers and formula. Okay, maybe not.
