President Barack Obama won a second term on Tuesday, but that pales in comparison to today’s achievement: the honor of most retweeted photo of all time goes to Mr. President and the First Lady. Now that’s something worth celebrating.
After the major news networks began to call the election for President Obama, his social media team released a handful of grateful tweets. “This happened because of you. Thank you,” they tweeted, followed with, “We’re all in this together. That’s how we campaigned, and that’s who we are. Thank you. -bo”
And then, the crowning glory: The social team posted “Four More Years” with the above pic of POTUS and FLOTUS embracing. It reached nearly 700,000 RTs by Wednesday afternoon, with 3.2 million “likes” on Facebook.
“This Barack Obama photo is the most-liked Facebook photo of all time,” Facebook announced Wednesday. On the Twitter side, it broke the previous record held by (what else?) a Justin Bieber tweet.
Yes, Barack Obama beat Mitt Romney and Justin Bieber in less than 24 hours. What have you done today?
