If you are a longtime “Power Rangers” fan, this is going to be some pretty fantastic news. Lionsgate and Saban Brands have announced they will be rebooting the franchise as a movie.
A press release for the announcement reads, “The new film franchise will re-envision the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, a group of high school kids who are infused with unique and cool super powers but must harness and use those powers as a team if they have any hope of saving the world.”
There’s not many details yet, but it sounds like the “Power Rangers” world will be resetting — at least on the big screen. Previously, “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie” and “Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie” were released theatrically. The show is currently in it’s 21st Season with “Power Rangers: Super Megaforce” on Nickelodeon.
