Country singer Mindy McCready has had a tumultuous life in the past 10 years or so and it does not appear to be easing up.
E! Online reports that McCready’s two sons were removed from her care by family services and a judge ordered that the singer by committed to a treatment facility to evaluate her mental health and her alcohol abuse.
A source tells E!, “Family members sought to have Mindy committed to a mental-health facility and there was an emergency hearing today. They just got out of court a little while ago and the judge committed her for up to 21 days.”
This comes on the heels of McCready’s boyfriend (and father of her younger son) David Wilson dying on Jan. 13 from what police say was a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The investigation remains open pending autopsy results.
Another source tells E!, “Mindy needs to get help and we all care and love her and we want her to get the right help so she can move on.”
McCready has previously been treated for drug addiction and also has a suicide attempt in her past.
