“Modern Family” has booked another high-profile guest star for its upcoming season.
Matthew Broderick is set to appear in an episode to air later in the fall, ABC says. The Tony Award winner will play a “neurotic” guy who becomes friends with Phil (Ty Burrell). No other details on the role, or an airdate for Broderick’s episode, are available at the moment.
Broderick joins a distinguished list of “Modern Family” guest stars that also includes Greg Kinnear, Ellen Barkin, Minnie Driver, Kevin Hart, Philip Baker Hall and Broderick’s “Producers” co-star, Nathan Lane.
Season 4 of the ABC comedy premieres at 9 p.m. ET Wednesday (Sept. 26). The show is vying for its third straight Emmy for best comedy at Sunday’s awards.
