MTV has ensured that a new group of seven strangers will live together in a tricked-out mansion and stop being polite when they star in the 28th season of “The Real World.” (Yes, 28 — that’s no typo. You’re just old.)
No word on where the partying and debauchery will occur, though the network is filming Season 27 in St. Thomas right now.
“The Challenge,” which pits “Real World” and the occasional “Road Rules” vets against each other, has been renewed for a 23rd season.
Meanwhile, MTV2 is adding to its original programming lineup with a reboot of “Hollywood Squares” with an urban twist. “Hip Hop Squares” will star folks like Nick Cannon, Bam Margera, Kat Graham, DJ Khaled, Fat Joe, Biz Markie, Ghostface Killah, Mac Miller and MGK as the celebs in the squares.
“The show will refresh an iconic format and create a fun, dynamic series that’s unpredictable, heavy on personality and much more ‘party’ than ‘game show,'” says MTV2 programming head Paul Ricci in a statement.
