Natalie Dormer is currently making the media rounds to promote her new movie “The Counselor,” but that’s not the only exciting project she has coming up. In addition to her continued role on “Game of Thrones,” she also landed a part in “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay.”
During an interview with “Live with Kelly and Michael,” Dormer opened up about her excitement for the new “The Hunger Games” film, “Catching Fire.” As she is filming her role as Cressida in “Mockingjay” right now, she says it’s exciting to see what director Francis Lawrence is cooking up.
“As a fan, I’m looking forward to seeing that,” she admits, adding of filming that it’s “great to be running around in pants and boots and get away from the long skirts for a bit.”
That comment, of course, is a reference to her role as Margaery Tyrell on “Game of Thrones.” When Michael Strahan commented that being a part of a series like “The Hunger Games” puts Dormer in a relatively safe position, she commented that her part in HBO’s fantasy series helped her realize that’s never the case.
“That’s an occupational hazard that I’m used to with ‘Game of Thrones,'” she says of how that series prepared her for her uncertainty in “The Hunger Games.”
“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” is due in theaters on Nov. 22. “Game of Thrones” returns to HBO in Spring 2014.
