IHOP is once again offering free pancakes on its National Pancake Day. On Tuesday, Feb. 5, head on into your local IHOP location for a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes. Then be sure to donate to one of IHOP’s charities.
Since its inception in 2006, IHOP says it has raised over $10 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and other local charities. The goal for National Pancake Day 2013 is $3 million, so join in! The charities receive 100% of the proceeds.
The IHOP National Pancake Day is not to be confused with Pancake Day (or Shrove Day), traditionally observed on Fat Tuesday, which is the last day before Lent begins. It is a tradition to eat up all the bad foods before fasting during Lent. This year’s Shrove Day is next Tuesday, Feb. 12.
