It’s chilly in Park City, Utah — the forecast high for Monday (Jan. 23) is 34 degrees Fahrenheit. Nick Offerman, however, disdains the cold.
Or at least that’s what we figure is going on with Offerman — “Parks and Recreation’s” Ron Swanson — in this picture from the Sundance Film Festival. The horrified onlookers are his co-stars and the producer and writer-director of “Smashed,” which had its premiere at the festival on Sunday.
Cast portraits at Sundance are a photo-service staple, but they’re usually just run-of-the-mill group shots, maybe featuring a little bit of mugging for the camera. Offerman and his “Smashed” cohorts, however, have taken the form to a new level. Also, we really dig his hat.
“Smashed” stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead (“The Thing”) and “Breaking Bad’s” Aaron Paul as a couple trying to come to grips with their drinking problem. The cast also includes Golden Globe winner Octavia Spencer (“The Help”) and Megan Mullally (Offerman’s wife). Also in the picture are producer Jonathan Schwartz and writer-director James Ponsoldt (flanking Paul).
