When you star as two different characters on The CW’s biggest show… you don’t have to choose between pants and a dress. Nina Dobrev went for a bold look at this Monday’s Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
With Ian Somerhalder in California on official RYOT business, Dobrev was joined at the Gala by BFF Julianne Hough (in a custom Top Shop dress).
Though the evening’s “punk” theme lent itself to some costumey looks, Dobrev chose a more sophisticated, edgy approach to the motif in a Monique Lhuillier dress with a leather and lace bustier and pants underneath.
It was a far cry from her choice in 2012, an asymmetrical Donna Karan gown dripping with gold leaf.
