Octomom Nadya Suleman is saying that she and her 14 children were set up by her hairdresser, who allegedly leaked pictures to TMZ showing Suleman’s family living in unsanitary conditions.
The images, along with a formal complaint from the hairdresser to La Habra police, resulted in an investigation by the Orange County Department of Children and Family Services on Tuesday night (April 24).
“We were set up,” Suleman tells “Good Morning America.”
“She thought it was unacceptable that they’re, you know, half-naked, goin’ potty,” Suleman says, referring to her 3-year-old octuplets. “I mean, moms out there, come on.”
She also explains another photo showing her modeling her freshly styled hair while in the background a chair is seen jammed against the door of the kids’ room. The hairdresser claims Suleman locked the children in the room and propped the chair against it to prevent them from getting out.
“I didn’t want the kids to go in there at the time and one of my older kids jammed the chair up there so they wouldn’t keep opening and closing the door,” Suleman says.
Officials who visited her home say they didn’t find anything out of the ordinary and deemed that the children were safe.
“They didn’t discover any mistreatment, so no further action was taken,” Cindy Knapp with the La Habra Police Department tells ABC News.
