Oprah Winfrey’s attempt at running her OWN cable network has had questionable success, but she’s getting a helping hand — in the form of another platform for her content — from pal Arianna Huffington. In August, a branded OWN section will launch on The Huffington Post.
According to a press release, the new sub-site will feature “articles, blogs and interactive content that will connect with the audience on an emotional and spiritual level.”
In March, OWN fired one-fifth of its workforce — 30 employees — while it struggled with weak ratings. A week earlier, the network canceled Rosie O’Donnell’s talk show after just five months on the air.
What do you think? Will OWN pull itself out of its tailspin or are the network’s days numbered?
