Netflix is on a roll and they’re not planning on letting up anytime soon. Following the release of “House of Cards,” “Hemlock Grove” and the much-anticipated fourth season of “Arrested Development,” the website is readying the release of their next original series, “Orange is the New Black.”
A dramedy from “Weeds” creator Jenji Kohan, “Orange” is based on the same-named memoir from Piper Kerman, telling the story of a well-off white woman who finds herself in a women’s prison after a 10-year-old charge for running drug money comes back to haunt her.
Taylor Schilling (“Mercy”) stars as Piper, alongside Jason Biggs (“American Pie”) as her fiance and Laura Prepon (“That ’70s Show”) as the drug dealer who got her into trouble all those years ago. The cast is rounded out by Kate Mulgrew, Natasha Lyonne and Taryn Manning.
The entire season will be released all at once on July 11. Check out the trailer above and let us know: Are you ready for your next Netflix binge-fest?
