James Wolk is Douglas, the responsible, wound-a-little-tight brother in the “Political Animals” Hammond family. He says this Sunday’s episode (July 29) really takes an interesting turn for Douglas, as he loses his cool with his father.
“The audience is going to see where his angst and anger comes from, and a lot of it is the anger he feels towards his dad, which is born out of growing up as a young man, watching the rampant infidelity that went all around,” says Wolk.
“When Elaine fell to the ground and fell to pieces, Douglas was the one who picked her up time and time again,” Wolk continues. “He really feels like his father is responsible for tearing the family apart and tarnishing his mother … It comes to a head in this episode. He can’t take it anymore and the top pops off. This really pristine guy is going to crack in this next episode.”
“Political Animals” airs Sunday nights at 10 p.m ET/PT on USA.
