Atlanta rapper Slim Dunkin was killed in a recording studio on Friday afternoon when he got into an argument during a video shoot. The 24-year-old, whose real name is Mario Hamilton, was at Memorial Drive studio for a video recording session with two other rap artists, Gucci Mane and V-Nasty.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Slim Dunkin got into a verbal argument with another man, who is not named, and then the other man abruptly pulled out a pistol and shot Slim Dunkin in the chest. No arrests have been made, but police are investigating and interviewing the 20 witnesses present at the scene.
Slim Dunkin was an up-and-coming rapper in the Brick Squad Monopoly group. Police major Keith Meadows admits, “We don’t know exactly what happened… It seems everybody witnessed something very different. We’re just trying to go back and make sense of everything.”
