Anyone else having dj vu after Tuesday’s (April 10) episode of “The Real Housewives of Orange County”? It surely made some fans at least a little nostalgic for “The Dinner Party from Hell” from Season 1 of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
New O.C. Housewife Heather Dubrow decides to get the girls and their guys together for a bowling and “champs” (er, champagne) party, and Gretchen Rossi invites a guest — Sarah Winchester. Sarah’s stint at the party makes her out to be a rabble-rouser fueled by alcohol, which sounds a lot like someone else “Housewives” fans know — electronic-cigarette-smoking Allison DuBois, who stirred up major drama among “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” when she was invited to Camille Grammer’s pizza and (really strong) cocktail party in Season 1.
Vicki Gunvalson and boyfriend Brooks Ayers arrive at Heather’s party, and everything’s going swimmingly. Vicki even exchanges hugs and pleasantries with Slade Smiley and Gretchen — quite the feat after Tamra Barney’s bunco party blowout among the three of them. After what one can only assume was a few bottles of fancy champs, Sarah decides to take it upon herself to be Gretchen’s mouthpiece and settle the score between her and Vicki.
“You come here, I’m talking to you about a serious issue. Are you gonna be like that with me?” Sarah slurs, following a surprisingly calm Vicki around the bowling alley. “You don’t know me, and you’re asking what do I want? Who do you think you are?”
Even Gretchen thinks her friend is being a little crazy and tries to calm her down.
“Vicki overreacts to almost everything, but I do think Sarah approached her in a very aggressive way,” Gretchen says.
And aside from a possibly wicked hangover for Sarah the next day, everything finishes on a high note, and Vicki’s happy Gretchen came to her aid. The same definitely couldn’t be said for “The Dinner Party from Hell” with psychic medium Allison, but we can’t help but ask …
