Whether you like her or not, viewers have taken notice of the woman who’s considered Danielle Staub’s partner in crime this season, so you may be surprised to hear the status of their relationship now.
Zap2it spoke to Granatell about how she’s portrayed on the show, her thoughts on Staub and the other New Jersey housewives, and her possible competition for the open slot on the Bravo series.
We have to be honest. You have come off as the evil Kim G. for your association with Danielle. What is your take on how you’ve been portrayed?
Look. Let me ask you this question? Have we not brought some great drama to the show this year? I don’t want to sit in [Danielle’s] house and eat grilled cheese sandwiches. You know what I’m saying? We’re in the same boat basically. She was single. I was single. I love to wear beautiful clothes. She likes to wear beautiful clothes. We have a silly personality. But, she’s very calculating and dangerous and devious. I’m devious to a point, but I’m not going to hurt nobody. I would never have a girl arrested. There’s a lot of things she does where my skin just crawls.
]]>So, to get it straight. What is your relationship with Danielle now?
None. She was making her bed and digging a deeper hole. She did it many times and I just kept giving her chances. How many chances do I give someone? I had had enough. You have to admit that you like a little intrigue and drama.
Oh, I’m all about that. Are you crazy? I’m drama and trouble. My mom said to me when I got my Ferrari, one of my cars, ‘Put ‘TROUBLE1′ on that license plate.’ I said, ‘No, mom, everyone will know it’s my Ferrari.’ I’m always looking for action and deviousness and drama.
How are your kids dealing with the fact their mom is on TV and everyone thinks she’s evil?
My kids are cool. They don’t care. My kids are fine. You know they’re very grounded. They love it. We’ve talked to Jaqueline Laurita, Caroline Manzo and Dina Manzo about you. Can we tell you what they’ve said and get your reaction?
OK. Caroline told us that she doesn’t hold a grudge against you. She wishes you would’ve behaved better at The Brownstone, but she has forgiven it all. She also says you were never friends, so it’s not like you double-crossed her.
That’s right. I’ve never even been in her house. That’s correct. My son and her have a very tight relationship, but I have a philosophy. I don’t get involved with the parents of my kids’ friends, because I don’t want to ruin their relationship. I have my friends. I don’t need to have more friends. She’s like Mother Superior. I’m not in grade school here. Were you offended when she didn’t accept your offer for a lunch date?
Totally understood. And the reason why I went to her about lunch was to solidify that the relationship between my son and her son were solid. That’s why I don’t get involved with parents, because it could happen. And Jacqueline? What did she say? Jacqueline says she likes you. She did say that you and her will have some run-ins and we’ll see them on the show. But, generally she says she likes you.
Yeah. And I love Jacqueline. I have to tell you I love Jacqueline. Here’s the best part of it all. We all can have our differences on-camera, but we can still be friends off-camera. Dina told us that you’re creating drama to be on-camera, because you want to be the next New Jersey housewife.
Let me ask you a question. What did Dina do? She didn’t want to be that, too? She said she felt that it would help get Project Ladybug out there.
Oh, really? OK. Continue. Next. Get Project Ladybug out there. Miss Innocent. People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones, honey. You know what? Everybody has a skeleton. Next. Miss Goody-Two-Shoes. The least that I liked was Dina. She’s just too stiff for me. You know, lighten up and smile once in a while. Teresa’s party planner, Elvira Grau, has been in the news basically claiming to be the new housewife. What do you think of her?
What do I think? She needs to go to finishing school. She better clean her mouth out a little bit. She basically talks through her… I’m not going to say it. She’s not dramatic enough in my eyes. I don’t know why she would go about doing that. She looks stupid. Why would she say that? Are you in talks with Bravo to join the cast next season?
Can’t say anything right now. We don’t know. You know Bravo is very tightlipped. They don’t say anything. I’m being honest with you. I would never, ever, ever go around saying anything unless it was true. You know, do people want me? I get stopped on the streets all the time, ‘We love you. We love you. You bring energy to the show. You’re great. You’re this, you’re that.’ You know what I’m saying? The answer is clearly yes.
I would join the show. I’m on it. I know the ins and outs of it. The crew loves me. I know the crew loves me. I was probably the easiest and most cooperative to film. I was always available. My home was available. I’m easy-going. I don’t give them any flack. Danielle? She thinks she died and went to heaven and everyone came to take care of her. I mean she’s asking the crews to take her bags out. What’s wrong with your hands and feet? You can’t walk and your arms are off your body? Entitled.
