Here’s yet another one for all the Rebecca Black haters:
Mock her idiotic “Friday” YouTube viral video sensation (see, we do) all you want, but guess who’s getting the last laugh? Black. Or, umm, her producers at Ark Music Factory. Or maybe her mom.
Forbes magazine estimates that “Friday” has netted Black at least $20,000 from its 30 million-plus YouTube hits alone.
And with the $.70 per single downlowd iTunes pays to distributors — at an estimated 300,000 downloads — that’s another potential $210,000 for the college fund. And that’s not even including downloads from Amazon.com, CDBaby and ArkMusicFactory.com.
Not a bad return on her mother’s $2,000 investment.
