“Pitch Perfect” star and upcoming MTV Movie Awards host Rebel Wilson might be branching outside of comedy soon. The actress is a big fan of “The Hunger Games” series, and revealed in a new interview that she’s in discussions for a role in the upcoming movies.
“Um, seriously, I have had a meeting about being in ‘The Hunger Games.’ Yes,” Wilson tells Buzzfeed. “It was one of the people in the capitol. That’s all I’ll say.”
With “Catching Fire” expected to wrap filming in March, it seems more likely that Wilson will potentially be in one of the two parts of “Mockingjay.” Then again, director Francis Lawrence might have realized he needed someone last minute to be in “Catching Fire” and decided a 27-year-old Australian comedian could fit the bill.
“There aren’t a lot of roles open, because they’ve all already been cast, but that would be awesome. I’d love to be in ‘The Hunger Games,'” Wilson says, adding that she’s already met star Jennifer Lawrence. “I met her at a party and she was super-duper nice. She’s really quite tall. Which I found — I don’t know if you get that impression when you see her in movies, but she’s quite tall.”
The MTV Movie Awards air on April 14, 2013. “Catching Fire” is due out on Nov. 22, 2013.
