“Rectify,” the story of an exonerated death row inmate (Aden Young) trying to readjust to life outside, will return in the summer. It will run for 10 episodes, up from six in its first season.
Season 2 of “The Writers’ Room,” in which Jim Rash discusses the ins and outs of putting a TV show together with the people who make them, is set to premiere in the spring. Season 2 episodes will feature writers from “Scandal,” “Sons of Anarchy,” “House of Cards,” “Pretty Little Liars” and “The Good Wife,” and a special episode about comic-book adaptations will look at “Smallville” and “The Walking Dead,” among others.
“The Returned,” the French show about the undead returning to their homes, will premiere late in the year. The second season is currently in development.
Sundance has also given the green light to “The Honorable Woman,” a miniseries starring Maggie Gyllenhaal. She plays the daughter of an assassinated arms dealer who takes a very different path in life.
