In the revolving door of the revolving chairs on “The Voice,” two new faces may be appearing for Season 7. Pharrell Williams has already signed on as a coach and now TMZ reports that Gwen Stefani has come on board as well.
The show has been looking to fill the female slot that has been occupied by both Christina Aguilera (Seasons 1-3 and 5) and Shakira (Seasons 4 and 6) since Aguilera announced she was pregnant back in February (putting her due date smack in the middle of the live shows for Season 7).
TMZ says that Stefani’s deal is for one season and that Aguilera is already committed to returning for Season 8 in spring 2015. Season 7 returns in fall 2014 and so far, Pharrell is the only coach announced. Blake Shelton and Adam Levine have yet to miss a season, but their return is not official as of yet.
Would you want to see two female coaches, “Voice” fans? Or should the show stick to the make-up of it has always had for the coaches’ chairs?
