Rihanna and her ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown, may have reunited, according to multiple (rather sketchy) sources. Rekindled romance rumors ran rampant at Sunday’s Grammy Awards ceremony, after Rihanna and Brown allegedly spent four hours alone together in his dressing room during rehearsals. At the actual awards show, though, the two never went near each other.
Last week, Rihanna and Brown were spotted together at the Greystone Manor club in Hollywood, though his rep issued a statement that his girlfriend Karrueche Tran was also there.
HollywoodLife spoke to a friend of Rihanna’s who claims, “The times they have been in the same building at the clubs the last
couple weeks were never a coincidence. They always know where each other
will be and would hang out more but they don’t want to be photographed
together. Rihanna’s people have said on a constant basis to her and she
seems to understand that any type of video or picture of them together
and happy would be very bad for her image.”
The duo arrived at the Grammy Awards separately on Sunday night, though red carpet correspondents from TV Guide speculated that their separate arrivals simply indicated that they were avoiding hysteria from their fans.
None of the sources asserting that the couple has reunited are particularly reliable, so we turn to our favorite form of journalism: Tweet investigation.
The night that Rihanna and Brown were at the club together, Brown tweeted, “Can’t stop looking.” Over the recent holidays, Brown tweeted, “Love U more than u know,” and just one minute later Rihanna tweeted “I’ll always love u #1LOVE.”
A few days later, Brown was photographed with Tran, and Rihanna tweeted, “How can you lie to her, while u lay with me???…..If you don’t have an answer, you don’t have to answer.”
Brown is still on probation after assaulting Rihanna almost exactly three years ago. The photos of her bruised and battered face, taken by the LAPD as part of their investigation, were leaked to the press.
That year, both Brown and Rihanna had to pull out of expected Grammy performances as a result of the incident. This year, Rihanna performed with Coldplay, and Brown performed twice. He also won Best R&B album and later tweeted, “People who make mistakes and learn from them are ROLE MODELS too. Im just happy to inspire growth and positivity!”
