Rihanna and Britney Spears dropped their new remixed version of “S&M”
Monday (Apr. 11) morning (listen to it here). The new song comes to us
just one day after announcing that there would even be a remix in the
first place. Would it be out of line for us to hope for a video by
week’s end? Yes, we know that’s crazy talk — we can dream.
No confirmation yet on whether the pop princesses will team up in front
of the camera, but if Rihanna has her way — Brit Brit better watch out.
RiRi spoke with Elvis Duran on his New York Z100 radio show to dish on
When asked whether there would be a video to accompany the track,
Rihanna replies, “I hope so.” Adding, in true Rihanna form, “I want to
The collaboration was unexpected, but has been well received by fans so
far. The track is a pleasant surprise that many had been pulling for.
“In order to do remix, it had to be major,” Rihanna explains. “I asked
my fans last week who they wanted me to collaborate with, and Britney

Even the “Umbrella” singer herself was caught off guard by Britney’s
desire to get involved, saying: “It’s very strange. Britney never does
features. It was really amazing that she wanted to be part of this song.
She really liked the song to begin with, but it was a different story
when she had to sing it, and she really wanted to be a part of it. It
made it really, really special, because you never see two pop female
artists doing songs together anymore.”
It’s a trend that we’d like to see continue. Nice work, ladies!
