The Dallas Cowboys fired defensive coordinator Rob Ryan one day after running backs coach Skip Peete was also let go, ESPN reports.
According to coach Jason Garrett, in a statement, “At this time, the decision has been made to move forward in a different direction philosophically on defense.”
For a guy who was also fired from the same job in Cleveland two years ago, Ryan seems oddly confident that he will find a place on another team, saying, “I’ll be out of work for like 5 minutes.” Speaking with the Dallas Morning Star, he elaborated on that saying, “I have no hard feelings. But it doesn’t matter if I coach here or not. I will find another spot,” before adding, “I’m too damn good.”
Maybe he can find a place with his twin brother, Rex Ryan, on the NY Jets coaching staff.
