Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb has woken from a coma and is showing signs of recovery, reports the BBC. The 62-year-old singer fell into a coma on April 14 after contracting pneumonia as a result of his battle with cancer.
He was able to nod and communicate with family, according to the report. Robin’s wife, Dwina, says he cried when she played him Roy Orbison’s song “Crying.” Fellow Bee Gees member Barry Gibb had also been singing to his brother to try to wake him.
Robin had recently undergone additional surgery for his cancer before slipping into a coma. In March, it was thought the cancer was in remission.
