“Roseanne” has been off the air since 1997, but the groundbreaking sitcom still holds a soft spot in many a heart who find kinship in the blue collar Connors’ travails. Also, it’s still seriously funny.
Though the two admit to thinking they haven’t seen one another since the 2008 TV Land Awards, a ceremony Goodman calls “a bogus award show nobody wanted to be at,” they later recall Gilbert visited the actor and their former co-star Roseanne on the set of a failed NBC pilot in 2012.
That said, the two clearly occupy a dear place in one another’s hearts, as Goodman gets emotional over the impact Gilbert and the remaining cast had in his life, even praising his former TV daughter as “great basic training” for his own children. Gilbert, in turn, reminisces about what Goodman taught her about an on-set balance of fun and focus.
