With the Season 2 premiere of “Hello Ross” on Friday (Feb. 21) on E!, Hollywood’s biggest superfan is back and better than ever.
Ross Matthews and his pop culture-obsessed viewpoint returns to TV to offer fans the unique opportunity to share their opinions, while the host shares more than a few of his own. With a brand-new set (“They tore up our old one and really spent some money doing something that’s pretty and glossy and brand-new.”) and a People’s Choice Award nomination for Best New TV Host under his belt (His message to winner Queen Latifah? “I’ll never forgive her. I will never forgive her. And if I see her one day, you better watch out, Queen.”), Matthews is raring and ready to go.
Zap2it spoke with Matthews in anticipation of his big premiere, during which he obliged us with a little game of Celebrity Word Association. The rule were simple: We name a celebrity, he tells us the first word that comes to mind. Some of his answers just might surprise you.
Lady Gaga: “Um, I love her. Love!”
Madonna: “Wacko. But I love her too! I’m just thinking of her on the Grammys red carpet, because that was the last time I saw her, and when she walked out, I go, ‘Wacko!’ but in a great way. That’s why I love her.”
Christina Aguilera: “Talented.”
Woody Allen: “Ehhh.”
Matthew McConaughey: “Good for him. I know that’s three words, but good for him.”
Lupita Nyong’o: “A-mazing.”
Jay Leno: “Mentor.”
Jimmy Fallon: “Great.”
NeNe Leakes: “Hilarious.”
Lisa Vanderpump: “Naughty.”
Brandi Glanville: “Ballsy.”
Adam Levine: “Salvador’s dream.” [Salvador Carmena is Matthews’ boyfriend of six years.]
Lena Dunham: “God, I can’t do this in one word. She’s like ‘fantasy-friend.’ Hyphenate that one.”
Justin Bieber: “Time out.”
Gwyneth Paltrow: “Bestie”
Chelsea Handler: “Sissy. Like sister.”
Kim Kardashian: “Kind. She’s so kind. One time we flew together, and she brought me a salad. She was like, ‘We stopped by and so I brought you one too.’ I was like, ‘Thanks, Kim Kardashian!’ Like, you’re pretty and you bring me food? This could work.”
Cate Blanchett: “Otherworldly.”
Joan Rivers: “Icon.”
Tina Fey: “Awesome.”
Kris Jenner: “Powerful.”
Katy Perry: “Fantasy.”
Miley Cyrus: “Good girl. I like Miley.”
Beyonce: “Everything. Everything!”
Amy Poehler: “Like, I wish she was my neighbor. My fantasy-neighbor. Hyphenate it!”
