Another throwback is coming to a theater near you: “Sabrina The Teenage Witch,” which originated in ’60s Archie Comics and was most recently used as source material for the 1996 Melissa Joan Hart sitcom, is coming to the big screen. And she’s getting a makeover, reports Deadline.
Sony Pictures is recasting the precocious teen as a superhero in a live action film about a girl coming to terms with her powers. The tone of the movie will reportedly be edgier than the sitcom and animated series adaptations from 1969, 1971 and 1999. But they are keeping her talking black cat Salem — this time as a transformed prince creating love stories for Sabrina.
With Hart outside the window of playing a teenager now (not that she’d be the best option for the superhero version — sorry, MJH), who do you think should play Sabrina? We have a few ideas — weigh in below!
