Sarah Burge, a British woman who calls herself the “Human Barbie,” made headlines earlier this year for giving her then-7-year-old daughter Poppy a voucher for liposuction for Christmas. Her reasoning is that it’s an investment and it’s something Poppy can use when she’s older.
On Tuesday (May 22), Anderson Cooper welcomed Burge on his talk show and things did not exactly go as planned.
In the above clip, Anderson wonders how much of this is about publicity.
“That’s actually not quite the truth. That’s where the sensational comes in with the press and it gets highly distorted … I’ve given her a voucher for if she so wishes to use it at the age of 18, she can … They’re like a bond. It’s a tax-free gift,” says Burge, which doesn’t answer Anderson’s question, so he tries again – is it about publicity?
“I’m taking advantage of my trade. I’m an associate of many plastic surgery companies around the world and by doing that, I was in the position to actually give her the voucher,” says Burge.
In the video below, Burge talks about overseeing her daughter’s Botox in order to keep her (Poppy) from sweating on stage. She’d rather help her than have her daughter go to some “voodoo witch doctor” or “get it off the internet and administer it herself.”
Anderson then says, “I honestly have nothing more to talk to you about. I gotta stop. I try to be really polite to all my guests. I just think you’re dreadful and I don’t want to talk to you anymore. I’m sorry.”
