“Scandal” has booked another easy-on-the-eyes male guest star for an episode later this season.
“Torchwood” star John Barrowman will appear on the ABC drama’s next-to-last episode of the season, scheduled to air May 9. Series creator Shonda Rhimes broke the news Tuesday (April 9) with the following tweet:
“John Barrowman is here working at @ScandalABC today. Life is good. #torchwood #captainjack #iamanerd”
Per usual with “Scandal,” Rhimes is keeping the particulars of Barrowman’s character under wraps. The show is currently in the midst of a story arc about a mole within the CIA who is somehow connected to Jake Ballard (Scott Foley), the military intelligence officer who’s simultaneously romancing Olivia (Kerry Washington) and spying on her at the behest of the president (Tony Goldwyn).
Barrowman and Rhimes have worked together once before: He starred in the Rhimes-produced ABC pilot “Gilded Lilys” last year, but it didn’t go to series. He currently has a recurring part on “Arrow” at The CW.
