Hey, if your baby is ever kidnapped, Kerry Washington & Co. are your people. You would just have to name your next child after her.
On Tuesday, May 17, ABC announced Shonda Rhimes’ “Scandal” would be debuting midseason along with “Apartment 23,” “Good Christian Belles,” “Missing,” “The River” and “Work It.”
“Scandal” revolves around the life and work of a professional crisis manager and her dysfunctional staff. Kerry Washington leads the “gladiators in suits” as Olivia Pope, a former media relations consultant to the President. Though she’s opened up her own firm, she can’t seem to cut ties with her past — professionally and personally.
Pope’s dysfunction team — who specialize in fixing people’s lives, but can’t quite fix their own — include “Lost’s” Henry Ian Cusick (Good to see ya, brutha!) as Stephen Finch, Columbus Short as Harrison Wright, Guillermo Diaz as Huck, Darby Stanchfield as Abby and Katie Lowes as Quinn. “Ghost’s” Tony Goldwyn takes on the role of President Fitzgerald Grant.
In a clip from the pilot released by ABC, you can see Pope’s team is definitely quirky, eating Chinese food while a baby waits to be picked up in a box after being kidnapped by the Russians. Also? Pope has a strict don’t show too much cleavage policy.
