“Scream 4” has added a couple more new cast members to the crew — “Heroes” star Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin (“Signs,” “Igby Goes Down”), according to Variety. They join Emma Roberts (“Nancy Drew”) as the newcomers who will fight alongside franchise favorites Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette as Sydney Prescott, Gale Weathers and Dewey Riley, respectively.
to previous rumors, “Twilight” star Ashley Greene has also been
offered a role. Greene would reportedly play Sidney’s cousin and
Panettiere would play Greene’s film-beek best friend. Culkin would be a
love interest for Greene.
The reboot will also welcome back Wes Craven as the director and
(thankfully) get Kevin Williamson back as the screenwriter. While Craven
has directed the three previous installments, Williamson only wrote the
first two and was a notable absence on the third “Scream” movie.
Are you getting excited? We enjoyed the first three “Scream” movies and with all the old familiar faces plus some exciting new ones,
this one could prove to be a successful reboot.
