First thing’s first: Carl found true love on the latest episode of “Shameless.” All it took was some time in detention and a female version of himself, bent on mayhem. In fact, she might be even more trouble than he can handle … She somehow convinced him to rob a liquor store.
Big things are on the way for Carl, and none of them are good. There’s a pretty girl leading the way though, so he’ll follow. After all, he’s just hitting puberty. Lip has his own little relationship drama with his roommate’s girlfriend. He doesn’t really want a girlfriend, but doesn’t seem to have much of a choice in the matter.
She’s fairly bossy and puts him on a rigid schedule, but he falls in line. She’s honest about why he’s around though … She just wants to make her parents mad. If dating a Gallagher doesn’t so the trick, what possibly could?
That’s not Lip’s only girl trouble, though. Mandy’s boyfriend is on the rampage and after him, because of his and Mandy just not being able to stay away from each other. While he escaped without a beating, Mandy does not in a very sad moment. Once Lip finds out what happened, there’s bound to be some revenge.
Fiona is learning what life is like for a convicted felon. It turns out people don’t want to hire those with a criminal record. You’d think someone who grew up in her life would already know that, considering she’s surrounded by felons. It comes as quite a shock, though. She ends up back at Robbie’s somehow, crying to him about how everything has fallen apart. That won’t go well.
Debs goes crazy on her way too old ex boyfriend’s new lady. She lets a snake loose in her car and makes threatening calls to her at work. That’s some great advice Mandy sent her way. Unfortunately, she messed with the wrong person. The new girl won’t stand for it and she makes that point with a baseball bat.
Mickey has more or less moved into the Gallagher house. He’s got a kid now, but wants absolutely nothing to do with it. He wants Ian. Now if Ian could just get his head screwed on straight.
Finally, Frank is at death’s door. That makes a really inopportune time for Sheila to come home and see her furniture has been sold. She has a plan, though. Her Native American internet boyfriend was decidedly less Native American than he portrayed, and was wanted. Now she wants to adopt his children, but to do that she needs to get married. Her plan is to wed Frank before he kicks the bucket.
As for Frank himself, he gets his final wish of returning to the Alibi Room. It’s Sammi who brings Kev, the guys, and some non-alcoholic beer to Sheila’s house to recreate the bar for him. For the first time in quite a while, he smiles. At this rate, it’s going to be hard for Frank to last the season.
