Rejoice, “One Tree Hill” fans! The CW is (kind of) reuniting one of the sweetest couples from the hit drama.
Shantel VanSanten, who played Quinn in the final two seasons of “OTH,” has just landed the lead role of The CW’s new drama pilot, “The Messengers,” THR reports.
“The Messengers” is about a mysterious object that crashes down to Earth and sends out an energy pulse that kills a seemingly random group of strangers. But when they wake up, they learn that “they have been deemed responsible for preventing the impending apocalypse.” VanSanten will star as Vera, a NASA scientist who works at a remote New Mexico observatory who investigates the strange impact site.
VanSanten’s casting news comes hot on the heels of her “OTH” onsreen love, Robert Buckley, landing the lead role in Rob Thomas’ “iZombie,” The CW’s new one-hour drama. Based on the DC Comics’ property of the same name, “iZombie” focuses on a med student-turned-zombie who works in a coroner’s office to get brains she reluctantly eats to maintain her humanity.
So while Buckley — who played Quinn’s husband Clay — and VanSanten won’t be together on the same show, at least they’ll both be back on The CW together. We can dream that Clay and Quinn are back on our TVs right?
