During an interview with “Access Hollywood” on Sunday (Oct. 20), Cowell told Shaun Robinson that he was happy to be having a boy and even had a possible name picked out. “The first time I saw it, it was like that big and I called him Tad because he looked like a Tadpole, I still want to call him Tad,” Cowell said, probably joking. When Robinson offered “Simon Jr.” as a possible alternative, Cowell stuck with his original choice. “That I don’t know yet. I’m still gonna go for Tad.”
Cowell wasn’t particularly shocked by the news that he was going to have a son, apparently. “Well it was 50/50, I wouldn’t have minded either way … but I kind of knew it was going to be a boy,” he claimed.
The producer and TV host also expressed a growing excitement for fatherhood. “You just become so attached to it,” Cowell said of his unborn child. “I never thought I would be that way, because I never wanted kids before but now, I’m completely opposite.”
The interview with Cowell will air on Monday’s (Oct. 21) “Access Hollywood.”
