Zap2it: Are you interested in doing more acting?
Cat Deeley: Yes, I would eventually like to do more acting. I had a small part on “House of Lies.” It’s a really clever show, and (Don Cheadle) is incredible. It’s slick. I was also on “Life’s Too Short” and on “The Exes.” I played a girlfriend.
Zap2it: Do you have a type of role you prefer?
Cat Deeley: I like comedy. Would I like to do “Kramer vs. Kramer” or “Schindler’s List”? No, I know my limitations. I am a goofball. I love comedy.
Zap2it: Do you get at all flustered working on live TV?
Cat Deeley: I did live TV for eight years, every week, three hours a week, 52 weeks a year on a Saturday morning kids show. I have fallen over. I dropped a mic. I got my first migraine on live TV. The scariest things, or the things you would be most scared about having happen on live TV, have happened. And I am here to tell the tale.
Zap2it: What is the secret?
Cat Deeley: If you can handle it with a little bit of charm and self-deprecating humor, the audience accepts you.
Zap2it: Is there any difference between your television persona and what we’re seeing in person?
Cat Deeley: I am the same person in real life as I am on TV – sure, it is a little bit heightened on TV.
Zap2it: Can you prepare for the show?
Cat Deeley: The key to everything is prep, prep, prep, then be in the moment and let it go.
