FOX’s summer reality competition, “So You Think You Can Dance,” has struggled in the ratings for several years but FOX CEO and chairman Peter Rice says he hopes it will return for a twelfth season in 2015.
“It’s a show that we love; it’s been on our schedule for a long time; it’s doing a very good job for us in a competitive time of the summer,” Rice tells reporters at the 2014 Television Critics Association summer press tour.
Although there are no official plans yet to bring the show back, Rice says he’s optimistic about it returning. “I think we’ll get to the end of the year and we’ll sit down with Nigel [Lythgoe, executive producer] and see where we stand. But I would hope it comes back.”
And for what it’s worth, Rice is a fan. “I think the show is a wonderful show. I love the quality of those kids who work so hard and for so long to be able to dance at that level,” he says.
