Scary Spice, a.k.a. Melanie Brown, has apparently been banned from working on “Australia’s Got Talent,” the down-under version of the talent competition show for which Brown currently judges in the U.S.
The Australian AP reports that the NSW Supreme Court ruled that Seven Network, the network that broadcast’s the Australian “X Factor,” had an exclusive agreement with Brown in regards to the “Factor.”
When she signed an agreement with Nine to judge “Got Talent” after believing she was not returning to the “X Factor,” she violated said agreement with Seven and is banned from working on a rival station until Jan. 31, 2014.
It remains to be seen if Brown will end up back on “The X Factor,” but either way, Nine has to find a replacement on “Got Talent.”
A Seven insider tells the AP, “It’s about making sure contracts are honoured. We could have just let her go, but that would mean the contract doesn’t mean anything. So, it’s a matter of principle.”
