Ashley Eckstein not only voices Ahsoka Tano on “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” but she has her own company. Her Universe creates clothing and accessories with a geek theme for women. No longer do female fans of things like “Battlestar Galactica” and “Star Wars” have to wear baggy, boxy shirts with their favorite characters. We girl geeks salute you, Ashley!
Eckstein has just put out a list of her favorite “Star Wars” outfits just in time for the re-release of “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace” in 3-D in “Star Wars Insider” magazine. You have to admit, there are a lot to choose from.
You can check out a shot of the piece below and get the whole story in “Star Wars Insider,” but here is bit of what she says. On Ahsoka Tano’s new outfit, Eckstein says, “I really like Ahsoka’s new outfit. It’s more appropriate for a Jedi. I grew to love her old outfit but, let’s face it, a tube top was not really practical for a Padawan fighting daily battles in the Clone Wars. Ahsoka’s new dress is very fashion-forward, yet not overly feminine, as that would not fit her personality. She is more of a tomboy. I would love to have a pair of her tights and her boots! Perfect for the winter!”
On Princess Leia‘s necklace: “Princess Leia was one of the original sci-fi fashionistas. All of her looks are iconic and I couldn’t possibly pick a favorite. However, one piece sticks out in my mind whenever I look back: her ceremonial necklace by Lapponia Jewelry. It’s such a gorgeous statement piece. I love statement jewelry, and the right piece can really complete an outfit.”
“Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace” opens in theaters on February 10th.
